How Crystals work

All crystals resonate (send out or take out) energy, each of the different crystals rsonates with a specific vibration (energy frequency), and this specific vibration has an effect on your Chakras and Aura.
 So for example if you were feeling demotivated and without any energy, we could use crystals that resonate with our Sacral chakra, these would be orange crystals, ( this is very simplified, so please look at the chakra table for more detail).

Crystals can be used in many ways, it is preferable to take some time out, lie or sit comfortably, and place the crystal over the position of the chakra you are working on for a few minutes. However carrying crystals with you will also bring benefit.

Doing a full Chakra balancing is hugely beneficial as a regular to your routine, chakra kits are available and will usually contain 7 crystals each resonating with the 7 chakra’s, again it is beneficial to lie comfortably for a few minutes with the crystals placed over the chakra centres.
 
Adding Reiki energy to the routine will super charge the Aura, as will meditating while balancing your chakra’s

Energising or activating crystals

There is much hype about cleansing and energising crystals. It is actually very logical. Cleaning is done in water, either from the tap or from a natural source. A few minutes will do. (Please do not use salt)

Crystals need to be cleaned and energised regularly if you use them regularly. To energise crystals, leave them either in the sun light or moon light, so leave them outside to get charged. If that is not possible a window ledge will do. This is most common, however you can energise with the use of a singing bowl, burying crystals in the ground, taking into an ocean or moving body of water, or with Reiki.

(NOTE: some crystals will loose colour if left in the sun, (Amethyst is one for sure, so if in doubt use the moonlight.)

Elixirs

Some crystals can be used in an elixir

An elixir is basically crystal charged (energised) water. That you would drink or apply as is necessary.

A good example is an elixir for hayfever:
Amber, Aquamarine, Blue Lace Agate, Jet and Tigers eye, if the hayfever ususally leads to sinisitus then add Flourite to the above.

Place the crystals in water, leave for 20 minutes and then drink the water.

NOTE: Not all crystals can be used in elixirs, some are toxic if ingested.

 Crystal Grids

Crystal grids are very effective and powerful healing tools. A grid basically means that you arrange certain crystals in a sequence around the body to effect energy balancing. Crystal grids can also be used to send healing to someone from a different location (More on this later)

A basic crystal grid for healing and chakra balancing would consist of 7 crystals for the chakras and 2 clear quartz. The picture below will demonstrate their placements.

Again most books on crystal healing will cover the topic.

Lie in the grid for as long as you feel is necessary, 10 – 15 at a minimum.

If you are reiki attuned give yourself reiki. Adding a chakra balancing guided meditation will further enhance your healing experience.

 Another question i get asked alot is about the size of Crystals. When you are first starting your journery with crystals it is ususal to start with the tubmles and thats perfectly ok, the size does not really matter, as you progress you will normally want to start usuing bigger crystals and thats ok also.

Grids can be very simple or very complex, start with the simple stuff work with it, then move onto the more complex stuff.

Crystals and Reiki

Reiki and crystal healing go very well together, and I would always encourage people who are drawn to the healing arts, to consider becoming Reiki attuned, Reiki attunements will significantly assist you on your spiritual journey, it allows your body to channel Ki energy, and with the use of symbols allows you to direct that energy to a certain extent. It also sensitizes you to energy perception and will assist with your psychic development.

Using Crystals with Reiki

Once you have determined which crystals you are going to work with and once the crystals have been cleaned. as you would  usually begin to channel Reiki, send the energy you wish to work with into the crystal, and include the symbols you wish to work with and energise the crystal, the crystal becomes a holder for that energy, it is then considered charged. Again this is a simplified, and should you wish to use crystals in your practice or for self healing, it would be beneficial to attend a crystal healing course.

Programming Quartz Crystal

As we spoke about earlier, all crystals resonate with an energy vibration, quartz crystal on the other hand can be programmed. You are able to change the energy of quartz crystal, so it can resonate with different energy depending on what it has been charged with.
